These paintings were painted during 2-4 hour live performances. Painting live is a fascinating restraint on the work, and gives me the opportunity to collaborate with musicians and interact with a live audience of people who engage the work as it’s coming into existence. When you’ve witnessed a piece being painted live you get to see everything that goes into a work, you get to see all the paintings within the finished painting.
